What started as a quiet Tuesday workout turned into GymTok gold after a bloke tried to chat up a woman mid-squat — and ended up getting escorted out by police instead.
According to witnesses at a PureFitness gym in Leeds, the man had been hanging around the weights area for a while before approaching the woman with what he called a “wild proposition.” In front of half the gym, he allegedly asked if she and her friend were “up for a threesome after leg day.”
“She just looked at him like he’d lost the plot,” said one onlooker. “Everyone went silent — even the treadmills stopped beeping.”
The woman calmly told staff what happened, and within minutes, two officers who were already next door on a call showed up to check things out. The man tried to laugh it off, claiming it was “just banter,” but CCTV — and about six gym-goers filming on their phones — said otherwise.
He was asked to leave immediately and received a formal warning for harassment. As he was led out, one guy shouted, “That’s not the kind of three-set you want, mate!”
Clips of the moment have since gone viral, with TikTok users dubbing it “The Day The Dumbbell Got Dumb.” Over 7 million views later, the comments are pure gold:
- “She lifted weights AND the patriarchy.”
- “Bro thought he was in Love Island, not Planet Fitness.”
- “Instant karma with a police pump.”
The gym later posted:
“Respect others. Lift heavy. Don’t be creepy.”
Moral of the story? Read the room — or the next thing you’ll be lifting is your dignity off the floor.
