A shocking incident unfolded yesterday in Manchester when a woman was caught on camera punching a toddler in front of police officers.
Witnesses say the toddler, reportedly around 2 years old, had wandered too close to a shopfront. The woman, identified as a relative, allegedly lost her temper and struck the child — right in front of on-duty officers.
Police quickly intervened, separating the toddler from the woman and taking her into custody. The child was unharmed but shaken, and is now being cared for by social services.
One passerby said:
“I couldn’t believe it. She just threw a punch like nothing, and the kid had no chance. The cops were on it immediately — it was scary but good to see them act fast.”
The woman now faces charges of assault and child endangerment. Officers have urged anyone who witnesses similar behaviour to report it immediately, highlighting how quickly intervention can prevent serious harm.
Online, people expressed outrage:
- “How do you punch a toddler in front of the police?! 😳”
- “This is why we need better awareness and support for families in crisis.”
- “Poor kid… glad the cops were there.”
Moral of the story? Violence against children is never acceptable — and quick action from authorities can make all the difference.
