This oneâs straight out of the âawkward misunderstandingsâ files.
Police in Boulder, Colorado were called out to a local park on Sunday after a woman reported a man âacting suspiciouslyâ near a jogging trail â only for the situation to take a hilariously innocent turn.
According to witnesses, the woman was walking her dog when she spotted a man standing near some bushes, âmaking odd movementsâ with his hands. Believing the worst, she immediately dialed 911.
Within minutes, two patrol cars arrived â lights flashing â and approached the man, who looked completely bewildered.
Turns out⌠he was just trying to fix his broken belt buckle.
âThe poor guy had been struggling to hold his trousers up,â one officer said. âHe wasnât doing anything wrong â just fighting gravity.â
Eyewitnesses said once police realised what was happening, everyone (including the caller) burst out laughing.
âShe was mortified,â a bystander said. âShe apologised like ten times. He was super chill about it.â
No charges were filed, though police gently reminded the public to âstay observant â but also give people the benefit of the doubt.â
Of course, social media had a field day once the story hit the local news:
âThis man just wanted to keep his pants up â now heâs internet famous đâ
â2025: The year even your belt can get you in trouble.â
In the end, the man reportedly went home with a new belt â and a story heâll never live down.
