Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman after a shocking hit-and-run left a 10-year-old boy injured on a residential street in Nottingham.

Witnesses say the child was crossing the road with a friend when a car came speeding round the corner, striking him before driving off without stopping. The driver, who allegedly has no valid licence or insurance, was tracked down a few hours later after CCTV footage and eyewitness tips flooded social media.

Paramedics treated the boy at the scene before taking him to hospital. Doctors say he’s now in a stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

Neighbour Sarah Kent told reporters:

“It was horrific to see, but the whole community pulled together. People ran straight to help the boy while others chased after the car.”

Police praised the public’s quick action, adding that the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Online, the story’s sparked outrage and calls for tougher penalties for unlicensed drivers.

Moral of the story? If you drive, drive responsibly — one careless choice can change lives in seconds.
