A 20-year-old woman has become the internet’s new main character after attempting one of the boldest, most ill-prepared, and unintentionally hilarious schemes of the year: trying to convince police she lived somewhere… using a fake lease she printed off the internet.

The now-viral bodycam clip begins with officers asking the woman a routine question:
“Do you have proof you live here?”

Most people would show, you know… mail, an ID, an actual key.
But not our protagonist.

Instead, she proudly pulled out a piece of paper so flimsy, so obviously fake, that one officer visibly blinked like his brain had blue-screened.

The “lease” contained:

  • A landlord name spelled wrong three different ways
  • Rent listed as “$40 monthly (negotiable)”
  • A signature line that literally said: SIGNATURE GOES HERE
  • And, for the finishing touch, a watermark from Google Docs still on it

Witnesses say she presented it with the confidence of a lawyer in a courtroom drama.

The officer — bless him — tried to keep a straight face while gently asking,

“Ma’am… why is the address written in pink glitter pen?”

Her response?
A masterpiece.
An absolute cultural artifact.

“That’s how my landlord does it.”

The internet didn’t stand a chance.

Within hours, TikTok was flooded with edits like:

  • “When you fail Photoshop but still try your dreams.”
  • “POV: You think you’re in a Netflix scammer documentary.”
  • “This lease was generated by ChatGPT on 1% battery.”

Even the officers couldn’t pretend anymore. One was caught on camera quietly whispering,

“This is not my job description…”

In the end, the fake lease was rejected (shocking), the situation was “handled appropriately,” and the rest of us gained a new legend in the Hall of Terrible Plans.
