Police have launched an investigation after the body of a 10-year-old child was discovered in a rubbish bin, leaving the local community in absolute shock.
Authorities were called to the scene after a resident reported a “suspicious bag” behind a residential building. What officers found has since been described as “every parent’s worst nightmare.”
The child, who has not yet been publicly identified, was found under circumstances that police are calling “deeply disturbing.” Detectives have cordoned off the area and are reviewing CCTV footage as part of the investigation.
Neighbours say they’re struggling to come to terms with what’s happened. “It doesn’t feel real,” one resident said. “This is a quiet neighbourhood — you never think something like this could happen here.”
Counsellors and victim support services have been made available for families and children in the area, as the investigation continues.
