A group of local teenagers learned the hard way that “fun” doesn’t always come without consequences after police caught them “dinking” in a busy downtown park this weekend.

According to witnesses, the teens—aged 16 to 18—were cruising around on scooters, making noise, and performing risky tricks, when officers approached to break up the activity.

“They looked annoyed, like we were ruining their Saturday fun,” said Officer James Martinez, who was on patrol. “I’m just doing my job. No one likes being told they can’t be reckless in public.”

One teen reportedly rolled their eyes and muttered, “Seriously? We’re just having fun…” before arguing with the cops about why scooters are “totally safe.”

Police issued warnings and reminded the teens that public safety comes first. A few parents were later called to the scene after the teenagers continued to protest and block sidewalks.

The incident has now gone viral online, with social media users torn between laughing at the teens’ entitled reactions and supporting the officers for keeping the streets safe. One TikTok caption read: “Teens mad that laws exist? Shocking.”

It’s a reminder that sometimes, what teens see as harmless fun can actually land you in trouble—and that eye-rolls don’t hold up in front of the law.
