In a story that sounds like it was ripped straight from a Netflix true-crime doc, a 23-year-old model from Brighton was arrested after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend — then reportedly sitting back on the sofa and continuing to watch TV “as if nothing had happened”.
According to witnesses, influencer and part-time swimwear model Luna Hale had been arguing with her boyfriend Evan Torrance, 26, over a missed takeaway order on Saturday night. Neighbours said the pair were known for their loud rows, but this one “escalated faster than usual”.
Police say Hale allegedly grabbed a decorative knife from a display shelf — one she’d previously shown off in Instagram stories as part of her “boho aesthetic” — and stabbed Torrance once in the shoulder.
What happened next is what shocked responders the most.
When emergency services arrived, Hale was reportedly “calmly scrolling TikTok”, while her injured boyfriend sat on the floor holding a towel to his arm.
One paramedic claimed Hale didn’t initially acknowledge them entering the flat.
“She literally looked up, said ‘oh, hey’, and then went straight back to her phone,” they told reporters. “We honestly thought we had the wrong address.”
Torrance was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
Hale, however, seemed unfazed during her arrest. Officers say she asked whether she’d “still be able to post the brand collab scheduled for midnight”.
A neighbour described her as “nice enough, but everything is content with her. If she spilled her coffee she’d probably film it for a reel.”
Hale has been charged with assault and possession of an offensive weapon. She is currently out on bail but has been told to stay off social media — a restriction her management team says is “the harshest punishment imaginable”.
