A mother and her pregnant daughter have gone viral after reportedly trying to pull off one of the most bizarre theft attempts of the decade — all involving Kool-Aid.

According to store sources (and security footage now making the rounds online), the pair allegedly attempted to mask or conceal items using packets of the sugary drink. Exactly how they thought this would work is still under debate, but TikTok and Twitter users are having a field day imagining the scenario.

Witnesses described the scene as:

“Like watching a kids’ science experiment meet a crime show. One second it’s Grape Kool-Aid, the next it’s felony charges.”

Apparently, the pair tried to hide high-ticket items inside containers labeled with the drink’s logo, but Walmart staff caught on before the “mixology heist” could succeed.

When confronted, the daughter — visibly pregnant and apparently confused about the legality of Kool-Aid — reportedly exclaimed:

“It’s not what it looks like! I was just… flavoring it!”

The mother allegedly added:

“We didn’t know there was a limit on flavor packets!”

The internet predictably lost it. Comment sections exploded with memes and jokes like:

  • “POV: You thought Kool-Aid was just a drink, but it’s also a felony tool.”
  • “Modern crime: sweet, colorful, and highly suspicious.”
  • “Pregnant and plotting… in grape flavor.”
  • “Step aside Ocean’s 11, here comes Kool-Aid 2.0.”

Authorities confirmed both were arrested and charged with theft. The items were recovered, and Walmart reportedly placed an emergency ban on “any suspicious sugary beverages.”

The moral of the story? Never underestimate the power of the internet to turn a failed Kool-Aid heist into legendary viral chaos.
