Police officers responding to a disturbing call about a possible assault on a child were met with a heartbreaking scene earlier this week.
According to reports, neighbours had contacted authorities after hearing shouting and what sounded like a child being struck. When officers arrived at the home, a woman allegedly denied any wrongdoing — but witnesses say her young son began crying as she spoke.
Officers are said to have separated the two and taken statements while child protection services were called in to ensure the boy’s safety.
Neighbours described the incident as “gut-wrenching,” saying they’d never seen police at the property before. “It’s just so sad,” one local resident told reporters. “You never really know what’s going on behind closed doors.”
Authorities are now investigating the situation further, reminding the public that if anyone ever suspects a child is being harmed, they should always reach out to local child protection hotlines or the police.
