City, State – A local preschool teacher is under investigation after several children were reportedly given patches containing unknown chemicals believed to induce sleep — without the knowledge or consent of their parents. The incident has sparked outrage among families and prompted a formal investigation by law enforcement and child protective services.

The allegations surfaced earlier this week after a concerned parent contacted local authorities, claiming their child came home from school with an unusual adhesive patch on their skin. The parent told police that the child appeared groggy and had not eaten their lunch, which was returned completely untouched — behavior the parent described as “completely out of character.”

When asked about the patch, the child reportedly said the teacher had put it on “to help them be calm and take a nap.” Alarmed by the implications, the parent contacted the school but felt the response was vague and dismissive. Unsatisfied and increasingly worried, they contacted police.

According to preliminary reports, other parents have since come forward with similar concerns. One parent said their child also came home wearing a patch, while another said their child appeared drowsy for hours after returning home, complaining of feeling “sleepy all day” and having no appetite.

“My daughter didn’t touch her food and just wanted to lie down when she got home,” one mother said. “She’s usually energetic and talkative, but that day she was like a different kid. I had no idea what had happened until I saw the news.”

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the patches in question are being tested for chemical compounds. While no final results have been released, early indications suggest that the patches may contain substances with sedative properties. It is not yet known where the patches were obtained or if they were approved for use in any capacity.

Police have not released the name of the teacher pending the outcome of the investigation, but confirmed that the individual has been placed on administrative leave by the preschool pending further review. The school has not issued a public statement but has notified parents that a full internal review is underway.

Local child welfare officials are also involved, citing concerns about potential health risks and the ethical implications of administering any form of chemical aid to children without medical necessity or parental consent.

“This is deeply concerning,” said a spokesperson for the Department of Child Services. “No parent should have to worry about their child being given something — anything — without their knowledge, especially not a substance that affects their physical or mental state.”

Parents of children in the classroom are demanding answers, and some have begun discussing potential legal action.

“I’m furious,” one father said. “There’s no excuse. If my child was given something to make them sleep, I want to know what it was, who approved it, and why it happened. This crosses every line imaginable.”

As the investigation continues, health officials are advising parents to speak with their pediatricians if they suspect their child was affected. Authorities are also urging any other parents with information — or whose children may have been involved — to come forward.

The preschool has promised to cooperate fully with authorities, and local police say they are treating the matter with the utmost seriousness. No charges have been filed yet, but investigators say the case remains active and ongoing.
