A group of teenagers is under fire after a cruel prank nearly turned deadly when they pushed their friend — who couldn’t swim — into a river and stood by watching him struggle for ten agonizing minutes.

According to witnesses, the group had been hanging out by the river when one of the teens shoved their friend into the water, laughing as he thrashed helplessly. The victim screamed for help, desperately trying to stay afloat, but instead of helping, the others reportedly pulled out their phones and filmed the incident.

Bystanders said the horrifying scene went on for nearly ten minutes before an adult passerby realized what was happening and jumped in to rescue the drowning teen. “It was one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen,” one witness said. “They just stood there and laughed while he almost died.”

The victim was rushed to the hospital and treated for water inhalation but is expected to survive. Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, with potential charges including reckless endangerment and failure to render aid.

The case has sparked outrage in the community, with many calling for harsher consequences for dangerous pranks that put lives at risk. “That’s not a prank,” one neighbor said angrily. “That’s attempted murder.”

👉 For one teen, a so-called joke became a near-death experience — and for his so-called friends, it may soon become a crime.
