During an April 2024 interview with Jordan Peterson, Musk referred to his child as “figuratively dead” after the youngster began gender transition treatment:
“I was tricked into doing this. I lost my son, essentially… They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason, because your son is dead.”
He continued to describe this as the result of a “‘woke mind virus’” — language widely critiqued for being insensitive and dismissive toward transgender identity.
