Former talent manager Brandon Blackstock, who was previously married to singer Kelly Clarkson, passed away at age 48 on August 7 after a battle with melanoma. His obituary revealed that at the time of his death, he was in a romantic and professional partnership with Brittney Marie Jones — a former assistant to Clarkson.

Jones, who worked as Clarkson’s production assistant from 2016 to 2018, later became Blackstock’s executive assistant and eventually co-managed his Montana ranch. The obituary describes her as his “beautiful and loving partner in life and business,” highlighting their work building ventures like Headwaters Livestock Auction and the Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman.

Notably, the obituary did not mention Clarkson — their two children, River and Remington, were acknowledged — nor did it mention Blackstock’s first wife, the mother of his two older children.

Their relationship reportedly began after Clarkson filed for divorce in 2020. Brittney Jones relocated to Montana the same month and played a significant role in managing Blackstock’s new life there until his death on August 7, 2025

Clarkson, who finalized her divorce in 2022, reportedly remained supportive of Blackstock during his illness and even postponed her Las Vegas residency performances to prioritize her children.
