Police say they were left horrified after discovering a young child locked inside a crude, homemade cage during a recent operation.
Authorities were called to the residence after neighbors reported disturbing noises and suspected neglect. When officers entered the property, they uncovered a shocking scene: a small child confined in what investigators described as a “makeshift wooden cage,” with little food or water nearby.
“The sight was heartbreaking,” one officer said. “No child should ever be treated this way. The conditions were inhumane.”
Officials say the cage appeared to have been built from scrap materials and secured with metal wiring. The child, whose age has not been publicly released, was visibly malnourished and terrified but was immediately taken into protective custody.
