Police in Florida were left stunned after a bizarre chase in which a man opened fire on a garbage truck as it drove through the city.
According to authorities, the suspect began pursuing the truck in his vehicle after allegedly becoming enraged over what he claimed was “improper trash collection.” Witnesses say he sped through several intersections, honking and yelling at the sanitation workers before pulling out a firearm.
Shockingly, he then began firing rounds at the garbage truck while still in motion, sending the workers inside scrambling for safety. “It looked like something out of a movie,” one witness said. “He was chasing them through traffic, and people were ducking behind cars.”
Police quickly responded to multiple 911 calls and managed to intercept the suspect after a brief pursuit. No injuries were reported, though bullet holes were found in the garbage truck’s exterior. The workers, though shaken, escaped unharmed.
The man was arrested at the scene and now faces a slew of charges including attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and unlawful discharge of a firearm. Officers say the motive appears to be linked to a personal dispute with city sanitation services.
