A man simply pulled out his phone to record — and what happened next has social media fuming.
He wasn’t interfering. He didn’t raise his voice. He was just standing nearby, filming a routine police encounter on a public street.
But that was enough to spark an aggressive response.
In the video, one officer turns toward him and blurts out, “Shut up.” Another follows up with “Go away, you’re not needed here.”
The man, calmly holding his phone, replies: “I have a right to record. This is a public place.”
Moments later, it gets worse — one officer mutters a swear word under his breath, clearly annoyed by the camera.
The man never steps closer, never gets involved. He just stands his ground.
Now, the video is going viral — with thousands of comments defending his right to film and calling out what many are labeling as abusive behavior by officers.
“This is why we record,” one commenter wrote. “Imagine what happens when no one’s watching.”
