Authorities say five children have been rescued from what they describe as a “living nightmare” after police discovered them in an abusive and unsafe home.

Officers were dispatched to the residence following a welfare check request. When they arrived, they reported finding the children living in conditions described as “severe neglect” and “active danger.” According to investigators, the children showed visible signs of malnourishment, injuries, and emotional trauma.

Police also reported that the home was in hazardous condition, with little food, unsanitary surroundings, and evidence suggesting ongoing physical and emotional abuse. Authorities have not released further details on the exact nature of the abuse, citing the children’s privacy.

All five children were immediately removed from the home and placed in the care of child protective services. They are now receiving medical evaluations and counseling.

“What our officers witnessed is something no child should ever have to experience,” a police spokesperson said. “We are committed to ensuring these children receive the safety, care, and support they need to heal.”

Two adults have been taken into custody and are facing multiple charges, including child abuse, neglect, and endangerment. Additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.

Police are encouraging the public to report any suspected abuse, stressing that timely intervention can save lives.
